Cates, a leader in the commercial real estate industry, brings nearly two decades of brokerage experience with a portfolio exceeding $75 million in closed transactions. In his new role with the South Carolina Community Alliance—a key policy arm of South Carolina REALTORS®—Cates will leverage his deep industry insight and public policy experience to help shape housing and development initiatives statewide.

The South Carolina Community Alliance serves as the advocacy and outreach arm of South Carolina REALTORS®, focusing on property rights, tax policy, zoning, and land use regulation that directly impact commercial property owners and the business community. The Alliance works to shape policy and promote economic development through education, legislative engagement, and strategic partnerships. As a board member, Cates will help advance the Alliance’s mission to create a stable, business-friendly climate for commercial investment across South Carolina.
